In this paper has been tried to identify and prioritize strategies for strengthening the religious dimension of national identity using the elite method, strategic and environmental studies based on SWOT technique. Based on the results, the initial strategies (mild conservative) emphasize the preservation of the family, the strengthening and correction of the functions of schools and universities, the artistic and scientific tools, the activation of social references, the integration of formal institutions and the proper implementation of the law and secondary strategies (mild offensive) highlight issues such as promoting self esteem, spreading jihadist spirit, protecting and promoting the religious democracy model, increasing the efficiency of the system, the participation of ethnic worthy, the unity of Muslims, and active engagement with the Islamic world.

And the present status of the area was analyzed by SWOT table. Based on this fact the researcher applied descriptive approach - Case study. Based on the results of the study, in order to identifying design the central context of city; it is necessary to identify the central context of city in physical, functional and social - perceptual dimensions and to get acquainted with the people in the three groups of residents, practitioners and users, two main factors including space individuation and identity of respondent with space, has been selected as major objectives, and strategies and design alternatives have been proposed in order to achieve the two general purposes in accordance with the main characteristics of an urban center.

A systematic ...  Read More National identity is one of the most important concepts of the current time. Many studies with the national identity issue have been conducted in the country in recent decades. A systematic review of conducted researches in this area can show us the weak-points and the strength of these researches and contribute to future studies. In this article, we have tried to systematically review those research papers published in the country who addressed the issue of national identity with a quantitative approach and using the questionnaire technique. Initially, 51 articles on the national identity issues published during 1390 to mid-1395 were selected, and then papers were examined from various aspects such as theoretical framework, statistical population, main variables, national identity dimensions, and national identity’s relationships with other variables. Finally, the findings of the research were summarized and analyzed with a critical approach. The lack of comprehensive and longitude researches, disagreement upon the concept of national identity and its constructive elements, the lack of defined theoretical framework, and the weakness in analyzing some of the most common deficiencies in articles have been evaluated.

However, there are few studies on the relationship between EFL learning and sociocultural identity changes. The present has investigated the relationship between English learning and Iranian learners’ language identity as hypothesized that there is a significant relationship between variables. To this end, 360 intermediate and advanced English students in the age range of 14-35, were selected based on cluster sampling method, and answered the Oxford Quick Placement Test and Language Identity questionnaire. The Questionnaires and tests were valid and reliable. Furthermore researcher used Cronbach’s Coefficient Alpha (over 70%) and backward- forward translation to check the reliability of the Questionnaires and tests. The result of the study has revealed that EFL learning had a positive significant relationship with sociocultural identity changes.

Such significance has made the political systems pay attention to the notion that its reflection has been represented in the field of education. The data reveal that while the issue has been studied in some textbooks, it is less studied in English textbooks. In this paper, through a descriptive and analytic study, the content and pictures of the newly-developed English textbooks were analyzed. It could be concluded that such attention to the issue of national identity, as one of the most significant dimensions of identity, has gained a favorable position which might be related to the purposeful use of critical pedagogy as a recent approach in English language teaching.

From all students in University of Qom were choosen 556 students as a samples by cluster sampling. In this study were used of some questionnaires as a religion, identity, mental health, behavioral problems and social security. In this study for describing data and other results was used Spss-22 and for examining goodness of fit of model was used Amos-22. For examine of fit of model was used Amos-22, which results showed model fit the data was good. Results of Amos showed direct path from religion to identity (0.34), and behavioral problems (-0.38) were significant but to mental health and social security were non-significant. Too, from identity to mental health (0.51), and behavioral problems (0.11) were significant but to social security was non-significant. And direct path from behavioral problems to social security was significant (0.35). Analysis of data by MANOVA showed that in terms of gender there were significant differences in religion, behavioral problems, and social security. Too, with attention to marital situation there were significant differences in religion, identity, mental health, behavioral problems, and social security.

While examining the relationship between EFL learning and national identity, this article offers a pathological viewpoint toward this global trend. The results are expected to shed lights on the conflicting viewpoints on the effect of globalization on national identity. Furthermore, attempts have been made to find out if there is any correlation among participants' majors, investment in language learning, gender and age with the construction of national identity. Method: The participants in this study included 189 language learners, both male and female, studying at Shahid Beheshti University. The main instrument used to collect data on national identity was a questionnaire. About 10% of the participants were randomly selected for a face-to-face interview. To compare the students' performances on the questionnaire items depicting national identity and its relation with participants' investment in EFL learning, majors, gender and age, some independent samples t-tests, a one-way ANOVA and Tukey's multiple comparisons were run. Findings and conclusion: The results indicated no statistically significant correlation between EFL learning and national identity. However, some differences were observed between beginners and more advanced learners. The outcome increased the complexity of national identity and the factors involved and put forward more questions for the researcher. Participants performed similarly on all majors as far as national identity was concerned but students in different majors performed differently on investment in EFL learning. Moreover, they performed differently on national identity as far as gender and age were concerned. The study clarified the existence of more variables in the process of globalization and identity formation and cast doubt on the unprofessional views in the area. The study made the role of contextual factors such as gender and age seem more salient. The intervention of these variables may either strengthen or weaken the effect of globalization on national identity.

The methodology of this research is analytical-deductive and is a type of qualitative research. Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics is related to understanding, and understanding is based on elements such as tradition, history, linguistics, fusion of horizons, and the interactions between the "I" and "Thou" in an endless process. In the absence of any of the elements, as well as the control of "I" or "Thou", on the other, the process of human excellence is diminished. By imagining this situation for the identity issue, four types could be imagined, which are three possible identities and a desirable identity: restraint (self-consciousness) when a person is not aware of his own and "non" is dominant; an intruder (the identity of the suppressor) when the alignment and absence of "otherness" occur; Identity denotes the absence of both "I" and "Thou", but based on Gadamer's ideas, one can impose the fourth form of identification, which begins with self-understanding, with a misunderstanding and with an understanding.

Now it is argued that what is the status of Tehran's urban sculptures as a physical and visual element from the beginning of their presence in creating the concept of identity in the cultural Landscape of the city? And How have they played a role in creating a "place identity"? This research is a qualitative and descriptive-analytical method to study the background and the reasons for the Emersion of sculptures in shaping the concept of cultural landscape identity in Tehran. The results of the research indicate that Tehran's urban statues have been a variable trend in representing the identity of the city from the time of its emergence to the present. Thus, through features such as groundlessness and contentism in each ear, the statues of Pahlavi era and specially Islamic revolutionary era, respectively had transferred a kind of mythical authoritative identity and valuative identity by representing the underlying and semantic content to the city’s cultural landscape, while this role was generally diminished in the 1380's.

Achieving this goal, the researcher tries to explain identity dimensions of a society by proposing a theoretical framework of identity and clarify the effects of identity on international relationship based on constructivism and clash of civilizations viewpoint. Then, by stating the quiddity of anti-crusade identity queuing from the viewpoint of Huntington. Finally, the study confirmed the possibility of implementing this strategic capacity concludes that the weakness of Iran's cross-border IRIB news in introducing Iran as a fighter against the new crusaders one of the factors that led to Iran less able to rely on the deep roots of the Muslim world identity. At the end of the study, while confirming the protential for the implementation of the strategic capacity, if follows that the weakness of foreign news coverage of Iran’s introduction of a struggle against emerging crusades is one of the factors that led to a lower iran’s ability to root the profound identites of the Islamic world rely on.

The present study was conducted via survey research and using a researcher-made questionnaire on a sample size consisting of 400 participants ages 15 to 70 years in Tabriz City in 2014. The participants were selected viathe multistage stratified sampling technique. Findings of the research indicate that there is a direct and significant correlation between the degree of use and purposeful use of Sahand Province Network as well as the type of contents of the network in all civil, religious, social, and cultural dimensions with audiences’ belongingness to national identity. Although the correlation of contents of Sahand Network is positive in terms of civil, religious, cultural, and social dimensions, the correlation is not highly significant. It indicates that the participants achieve some part of their belongingness to national identity form other resources as well.

As a matter of fact, sustainability of social identity requires a meaningful history, which is clear and vivid in Shahnama. Accordingly, Shanama is called a collective self-awareness of Iranian identity. This self-awareness has been emerged as a "we" against "other". The main objective of this paper is to Antagonism process than others in Shahnameh and the reflection of this process is the relation between self and others. The findings of this study, based on Laclau and Mouffe's theory, indicate that this antagonism is not white or black, but of a gray nature And therefore never completely "other" into the trap of exclusion, confrontation and conflict will not be.

Since the notion of identity implies "otherness", Cultural semiotics for the study of each culture, it also examines it in contrast to other cultures. According to theoretical consistency in the two fields, in the present article, it has been attempted to examine the identity of Safavid period art works in contrast to the Ottoman regime by using the semiosphere approach. To achieve this purpose, using the descriptive-analytical method and the semiotic approach, the cultural-political space between the Safavids and the Ottomans is drawn and the identity issue was analyzed as a case study in several works of art that came from Iran into the Ottoman space.

The national identity is the process of consciously answering a question from one nation to itself, meaning the sense of belonging to the national community and the difference with others and others that leads to the unity and cohesion of a society. The present study examines some aspects of national identity. The method used in this research was survey using questionnaire technique. The statistical population of the study is young people belonging to the age group of 15-29 years old living in Kermanshah and Ilam, 800 of whom were selected as the statistical sample by applying a multi-stage cluster sampling method. The findings show a tendency towards the national identity of the people living in Kermanshah. Also, there is a meaningful relationship between the tendency toward national identity with gender and marital status, while there is no significant relationship with age and education of respondents.

This study aimed to investigate the role of sport in the process of formation of national identity. To answer the fundamental question of the study as how national identity affected and was impacted by the sport in Iran, an in-depth interview was conducted with 28 experts, university professors, and athletes regarding such concepts as the national pride, ideology consolidation, political propaganda, and so on. Using a qualitative methodology and semantic interpretation of participants’ responses, the present study embarked on the construction of a story trend through the extraction of concepts, and it presented a theoretical model for the relationship between national identity and sport. The results of the study indicated that, as a phenomenon, sport can move along with the improvement of national correlation and, through creating the national pride as well as linking the minority’s interests to the majority body, it can bring about the unity and correlation inside the country and show of strength at the international level.

Traditional architecture ...  Read More The concept of identity encompasses a variety of elements and categories, and traditional arts have always been one of the identification bases of Iran's identity. Traditional architecture as the most sensible and perceivable part of Iranian art, have emerged in constructing elements and various physical structures that have been effective as identifying elements on Iranian architecture's soul of position. One of these elements emerges in the form of sacred geometry. Sacred geometry, as the highest model of symbolic material forms, appears in the structure of traditional architecture in a best way, and influences on the architecture identity. Now the question arises that, what is the role of geometric decoration in identity-making of Iranian traditional architecture in Islamic era? And what concepts and forms are the factors of architecture identity making in sacred geometry? This research has been performed by analytical-descriptive method in order to present a model for drawing the relationship between sacred geometry and components of its identity. Finally, the result was that the presence of geometric shapes in traditional decoration is like a metaphorical language that gives specific place aesthetic experience to the man. The "sameness" achieved by this experience, is the predisposition of significant meaningful identity for traditional architecture. It means that the consistency of sacred geometry with human identity leads to the continuation of the relationship between human and place; the place that its identity is consistent with human, in the way that the operational, semantic and physical characteristics of the sacred geometry will carry messages that give meaning to the traditional architectural identity.

How did the foreign architects have effect on the identity of the contemporary architecture of Iran, is the main question of this research. In this paper, first we will have review of modernity, national identity and modernity and their effects on identity crisis and the effect of Pahlavi architecture and the invited architects. As Nikolai Markov had lots of projects in this era and could manage the tradition, modernity and nationalism, as a foreigner architect, his projects have been selected as the case study of this research. This research is a qualified research and its conclusion has a comparative style and the aim of the research is the survey of effects of foreign architects on identity of contemporary architecture of Iran. The conclusions shows that, Nikolai, with paying attention to background and bases of society and studying needs, intends and necessarily of the society toward modernity could supply all needs of architecture during that era that contains identity, modernity, tradition and nationalism and have effect on national identity and transition of tradition to modernity in architecture during first Pahlavi era.

One of the most important concerns of countries with cultural and ethnic diversity, is preserve and enhance the convergence of different individuals and groups living in the territory. Some researchers believe that ethnic identities and subcultures not only not in conflict with national identity in Iran, but also act as pillars holding it. Many factors involved in maintaining and strengthening the unity and cohesion of communities and groups living in a land and this subject can be studied from different directions and dimensions. Therefore, in this study the authors have tried to investigate the effects of socio-cultural and economic components on the convergence of the people of Kurdish regions of west of Iran from the perspective of the elite. The method of this research is survey and practical. The data were collected through questionnaires. Statistical population of research involving the experts and elites of ethnic area in two strategic and executive level with a sample size of 90 people and the method of sampling is simple random. The results indicate that socio-cultural factors with 45.25 percent and economic factors with 49.75 percent are as converging factor.

The present study addresses the sociological study of the national and local identity of Laki speaking people of Iran. The research population included all Laki speaking people of four provinces of Lorestan, Kermanshah, Ilam, and Hamedan from whom 402 participants were selected as the research sample through multistage cluster sampling. Results indicate that there is a correlation between the national identity and local identity, and the intensity of the tendency to national identity is stronger than that to local identity. The standard regression coefficient shows that the variables of cultural coexistence, local identity and the aesthetic interests have strengthening effects on the national identity, and determine 42 percent of the national identity variance.

National identity is a form of identity and sense of belonging to a larger land deals within certain limits. Today, the issue of preservation of national identity (and Iranian identity) has become one of the most important issues in the field of human sciences. Cinema is a high impact medium and a suitable tool in representation of national identity in a society. The current study seeks to identify and explore components of national identity (Iranian identity) represented by Ali Hatami in the movie “Mother”.   The movie “Mother” has been selected as a case study. Semiology analysis method was used to analyze the movie. The results of this study show that the movie “Mother” represents political, social, historical, linguistic and national identity themes and indicators through social, technical and ideological codes. Three main semiology codes styles analyzed in this movie include: mother suggests homeland, return to Iranian classical literature originality and togetherness and collective life.

The present study is about how to revive the dome as an element of architectural identity of Iran. So, the dome, has been investigated from various aspects; using descriptive, analytic and comparative methods in library. As a result, Iranian dome, has indicators such as; the original history and aesthetics, also it has the natural strength of geometry. Likewise it keeps cool the covered space in warm season in hot-dry climate of Iran as well as it has provided architectural identity of central Persia in the past. Recognition of these factors would help us to revitalize this element in contemporary architecture.

  In their social life, people may pass by different places; private rooms, restaurants, parks, streets… If one of these places is elevated to a unique position with various meanings ...  Read More In their social life, people may pass by different places; private rooms, restaurants, parks, streets… If one of these places is elevated to a unique position with various meanings attributed to it, the place will consequently constitute parts of man's social concerns. Such place is called "memory-site". The main question of this paper is to demonstrate how the graveyard of war victim's in Isfahan (Golestan-e-Shohada means the Garden of Martyrs) appears as an emotional and identical memory-place for war victims' families. A synthetic approach has been deployed in conducting the research in which for the qualitative part twenty families have been interviewed with interpretative method while 180 families have participated in the quantitative section in order to help us in gathering our data. Our findings assert that Golectan-e-Shohada can be regarded as an emotional and identical memory-place for war victims' families. Golestan-e-Shohada has functioned as a unique place in formation of the identity for the place, restoration of religious identities, persistence of familial values, arousing people's emotions and making people pay attention to some symbols.
