A Study of Administrators View Point of Elementary, Guidance, and Secondary Education about National Identity

Read More This study examined attitudes of academic administrators about various components such as national identity, national values, religious values, human values and community values. The research methods are qualitative and quantitative, and the sample is 274 male and female managers from different level of study in Mazandaran province. The study also included qualitative interviews with five heads of provincial education. The method of data collection is field study that conducted with questionnaires in quantitative section and semi-structured interviews in qualitative section. Research findings indicate that some components of national and religious values are realizedbut human values and society dimensions of national identity are not realized. Findings from interviews with executives indicate that the primary period due to its infrastructure is the best course for the training of national identity. Also, the main disadvantage of the educational system is the absence of comprehensive and widespread national identity training. Therefore it is necessary to perform both formal and non-formal education for training national identity in different education periods according to the age and developmental features.
