Islamic and Iranian Identity in the Safavid era metalworking; With emphasis on the inscriptions on metal works

Abstract
Safavid period is a turning point in Iranian history. As it can begin a new stage in the history of Iran during the Islamic cited. At this time featuring two important elements that "Shia"and "national identity" was evident in  iran. Before the Safavid, Iran's official religion, was Sunni. With being governed by religion and ideology of Safavid Iran's ruling changed. Besides the transformation of religious identities of the Iranians forgotten about nine centuries after the fall of the Sassanid to the Safavid coming, was revived. At this time, traditional artists, especially artists metalworking, as well as signs and symbols Shia and Iranian national identity was revealed in his works. This article reviews and analyzes the effects of metal content with an emphasis Shia Safavid Period and national identity are paid.
