Abstract
The architecture of Iran in the years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution raises the question of what cultural factors and challenges in this period are the legacy of the Pahlavi era and the continuation of cultural challenges in that period and what are the components and features of the architecture of the Islamic Republic? The research method in this research is to adopt a qualitative research strategy with a phenomenological method and with an interpretive (hermeneutic) approach and tries to reach a deeper understanding by using this method than it has been so far. The semiotic method has also been used. The analysis stage is also descriptive phenomenological. The findings indicate the effects of dependence on the West, globalization, the conflict between tradition and modernity and the values that govern Iranian culture and its contrast with some of the cultural values of the West and the interaction of architecture and culture. The end result of the research includes personal assumptions and philosophical foundations from which the interpretation has resulted.
