As far as race, language and social structures are concerned, Iranian Turkmen are somehow different from their fellow - countrymen. The writer believes, however, that these differences couldn’t impede the interaction of this people with other Iranians. This interaction is traceable in the economic, social and particularly cultural domains, at least through the past conturies. The existence of Persian worlds in Turkmen language as well as in the poems of their colebrated poets such as Makhtum Gholi Feraghi, is merely a symbol of such an interaction. Currently, and during the holy defence era (the eight - year - war with Iraq), the during fights of Turkmen along with masses of their fellew - countrymen demonstrates another dimension of the national interaction.
Within the framework of an applied approach, the writer believes that the acceptance of existing differences among different Iranian peoples and actual facilitation of their wide spread participation in the affairs of the country, will undoubtedly result in a furthur convergence and a closer link among them.
