Abstract
Historiography, historicism and history-writing are three kinds of reporting the historical events, each of which could called a narrative. Writing down the historical events of the Qajar era has been often bewildering between the historicism and history-writing. In order to rid of this problem, we need to achieve a firm point in the history of the Qajar era. Hence, we have to use the concept identity to reach this point. The present article considers identity as a process in which conscious and intentional answers are given the questions of whatness and quiddity. The concept of identity has been then studied in two texts of historiography of the Qajar era in the present article: Hoquq al-Akhbar al-Nasseri and Afzal ut Tawarikh.
