Abstract
Globalization is a phenomenon that has attracted a lot of attention nowadays. In spite of its existence in the past, due to the novel technologies in the present century, it still remains disputable. It is believed that globalization is a fantastic opportunity. Therefore it is essential to understand the different aspects of this phenomenon for succeeding and choosing a better strategy. Since everything is affected by the globalization forces, tourism is not as exception as well. Our purpose of this research is to explore if there is any relationship between globalization and tourism development. If the answer is yes, the direction and intensity of this relationship are determined. Statistical population is the managers and experts of different sectors of tourism industry. Finally, the researcher came to this conclusion that there is a positive relationship between economic, political and cultural-social globalization and a negative relationship between environmental globalization and tourism development. Also among the different aspects of globalization, political globalization has the strongest relationship with tourism development.
