Convergence and Regional Limited Cooperation: A Way for Development of Cultural Tourism in Cultural Iran

Domestic and international tourism continues to be among the foremost ways for cultural exchange, providing a personal experience, not only of that which has survived from the past, but of the contemporary life and society of others. Cultural tourism is among the foremost means of cultural exchanges between the people of countries and among the most valuable instruments of inter-cultural dialogue. It generally focuses on traditional communities who have diverse customs, unique form of art and distinct social practices, which basically distinguishes it from other types or forms of culture. There has been considerable debate about the role of tourism in contributing to a growth or a decline in the local cultures in areas that support tourism. Cultural Iran as a vast geographical area and a rich and old civilization and culture, has good potential for cultural tourism. One of the most important effective ways in development of cultural tourism in this area is convergence and regional limited cooperation of Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan in this context. This article, surveys the strategies for shaping these stratesgies with SWOT technique.
