Abstract

The purpose of the present article is to study gender differences in media use, social identity and lifestyle relationship among youth in shiraz. Using survey method, questionnaire is used for data collection. 880 Youth (18-29 years old) who have lived in shiraz answered the questions.
Results confirms gender difference in lifestyle and religious identity. They also show that relation between ICT use and national and religious identity are significant for both but mass media is related to social identity significantly only for girls.
Significant relationship between national and religious identity and modern lifestyle for girls shows that mass media has more important role for girls and not boys.
