The Iranian-Islamic Identity of Tehran Over time

Human being according to his inherent nature has always been seeking to distinguish himself from others and be immortal. So, authenticity and identity is one of the cases which in many scientific fields related to human being, Such as architecture and urbanism, has been regarded .Because they directly are affected by human toughts and beliefs. Characteristics that arise from the beliefs and imperatives originated from being Iranian and Islamic; are the main identity factors for Tehran city so for understanding the changes in Tehran identity we should know the factors which make the identity. In this article, after examining the meaning of identity from viewpoint of scientists and urban planners; we express the characteristics which makes Tehran Islamic and Iranian.
Presence or absence of these features in traditional and contemporary period, would suggest us how is the evolution of Tehran’s Islamic Iranian identity over time. Comparing  the Islamic and Iranian identity factors in two monumental buildings in Tehran, makes the cognition of the identity changes more reachable.
