Qajar Rock Reliefs Status in Revival of Iranian National Identity

Abstract
Rock reliefs has recognized as one of the most important documentary finding in historical and archaeological researches. Necessity of study this archaeological evidence has been further due to including of socio-political and cultural significant that it remained as motifs and inscription.
This article attempted to answer what are the effective factors in formation of rock reliefs and their consequences? The method of research is comparative studies and historical analysis approach that it emphasized on the Iranian cultural identity. Also, in gathering data have been used documentary sources.
The Result of research shows that, Qajar Kings created rock reliefs in Northern, Southern and western regions until they could attain political integration, reign survival and Iranian identity revival. There are similarities between Sasanian and Qajar rock reliefs that it focused on the political authority. Whereas, most important diversity aspect in these motifs have been inattentive to Shah religious legitimations that it has been presented arbitrary without religious powers support.
