Social Happiness and its Related Factors (A Study among the Students of Allameh Tabatabaei University)

Social happiness is one of the important elements of social welfare that had been emerged along with new theories of development and their emphasis on human development. The central role of health in development and turn in definition of health from negative definitions (lack of disease) to positive ones (some social and mental conditions like being happy) have put the happiness as a central element in public and welfare policies. Previous researches and other evidences show that social happiness, in our current society, is in an average level (or less). So, current research discusses about social happiness, and for this purpose, after studying theoretical literatures and different views, an experimental test had been done among students of Allameh Tabatabaei university. Theoretical views have been studied in three parts: sociological theories, theories in historical sociology of Iran and Iranian - Islamic perspective. Next, previous researches have been reviewed, theoretical framework have been compiled and basic variables (including social trust, ontological security, religiousness, kinship relations) have been identified, and based on them, hypothesizes have been made. This is a survey research. The data have been collected through questionnaire among 170 students of social sciences faculty of Allameh Tabatabaei university. The findings show that there is a positive significant relationship between social happiness and such variables as religiousness (consequential dimension), ontological security, social trust and kinship relations.
