Abstract
Economic and social changes in the past decade attract many immigrants to Bandar Abbas city. But there is very little information about convergence, social cohesion and interaction between identity groups. This article reviews the state of convergence and social cohesion between identity groups in the city of Bandar Abbas. A qualitative study was conducted. Data for this study was drawn from twenty six in-depth and semi- structured interviews, using the purposive sampling. The results show that, despite the differences in behavior and attitudes between different identity groups, these differences have not created a major challenge to the social interactions of citizens. Social interaction and marriages between identity groups, and joint ventures, are signs of social cohesion and convergence of identity groups in the city of Bandar Abbas.
