Abstract
Graphic design of posters and photographs in the election field is important. This method is used for capturing and holding the audience’s attention. One of the most important things that candidates use for capturing and holding the audience’s attention is national identity. For example, with using the national identity in the electoral posters can change the cultural orientation in audiences. So, the aim of this project is to reveal the importance of graphic design of the posters of Shiraz elections in the demonstration of national identity. The statistical population of this research was the posters of Shiraz elections (city council) that were analyzed by method of text quality analysis and layer-to-analytical method (200 works). In sum, it has been concluded that in the graphic design of electoral posters of Shiraz; social, religious, and cultural dimensions are the most used components that are used in demonstrating the national identity.
