The Position of Identity in the Academic Dissertations (Case study: Dissertations of M.A and PhD degree in the field of political science and international relations at the state universities of Tehran)

Abstract
By Perceiving the importance and position of "identity" in social relation and group - interactions, and with regard to the interdisciplinary position of this concept, this research is purported to identify the place of subject in the  disertations of P.H.D and M.A Students in the universities of megapolis in the form of quantitative - inductive method.
Main research question: how many of dissertations of Doctorate and Masters degree of state universities of Tehran were dedicated, directly or M.A degree indirectly, to the issue of identity whether in their title or terms of reference.
Method of information gathering: in fulfilling this research the method and technique of content analysis and information gathering some 700 dissertations of eight universities and higher education centres located in Tehran were involved. For better understanding, two conceptual models are employed. In the first model the identity is regarded as a dependent factor related to and affected by different elements and features in both external and internal circumferences; and in the second one the identity is accounted as an independent variable with an extended spectrum of identificational operations and autputs. Extended conceptual employment of the identity culminated in about 40% of dissertations, more - or - less, have the subject of identity in their own agenda. Only six titles were literally dedicated to the concept and one percent had inferred to the concept.
