Nowadays, formation of identity among adolescent, identity styles and effective factors on them have attracted attention of psychologists. The goal of this research was to study of relation between religious orientation and identity styles and to compare of them in high school students.
The subjects of the study were 300 students of high schools in Tehran city who were selected by multi-phase cluster sampling. Two questionnaires-Religious orientation and identity styles inventory-have been distributed. Analysis of the data involved regression analysis and t-test of independent group.
The results revealed that there was significant relation between religious orientations with identity styles in Tehran high school students. There was significant difference between religious orientations in girls and boys of high schools and there was significant difference between identity styles in girls and boys of high schools.
Results of this study were consistant with previous researchs which justify the importance of paying attention to religious orientation in adolescence to profit by a successful identity.
