High School Persian Literature Textbooks and Representation of National Identity Components (Teachers Viewpoint)

Abstract
The main aim of this study was to investigate the amount of emphasis on components of national identities in Persian literature textbooks in the High school. Research method was survy research. Research have two statistical population contain whole part  of high school Persian literature text books and all literature theachers in the Hamadan city in 2012 (N=154). The statistical sample number for text book is equal with population and for literature theachers was 109 that selected with random simpling approatch. The instruments used to gather data consist of a researcher made of national identities component. Data were analyzed using the descriptive statistical indices and inferential statistics such as t  tests.The most important findings are: In total Persian literature text books have low emphasis on natoinal identities (1.68 of 5). Persian literature text books have highest emphasis on religious, cultural and natio-political components and the lowest empasis on sub-cultural and geographical ones; in a descending order. The results indicated that  there are significant diferences between average of whole  part  of national identity components with theoretical average and this mean is that have low emphsis on this component in high school Persian literature textbooks.
