A Content Analysis of "Payamhaye-Asemani" Books of the First Period of High School Based on Religious Components

Abstract
The purpose of the present study is to analyze the content of school books named "Payamhaye- Asemani" of the first period of high school based on the religious components. The study’s sample is "Payamhaye-Asemani" books of the first period of high school (seventh, eighth, and ninth). A content analysis checklist was used as the research instrument, containing 2 main components, 4 subcomponents, and 23 indicators. Its validity was determined by the education specialists and its reliability was 82% based on the ratio of the agreed components to all components. The data was analyzed based on the content analysis method. The findings showed that the most popular component in the contents and titles has been the verses and religious narratives. In fact, the cognitive component in all the three grades has received more attention than other components of the religious identity. social, emotional, and cultural components, stood in a second place, respectively. Generally, it can be concluded that "Payamhaye-Asemani" books have paid attention to the religious identity, but the contribution of cognitive components has been more than the religious identity.
