Mirza Hossein Khan Mushirudulleh (Pirnya) has followed a nationalistic approach in his historiography. His main concern was pathology of the reasons of the weakness and decline of Iran in the late Qajar era and has made attempts to strengthen national identity and revive the past splendor of the Iranian civilization.
